Mapperley (NG3) sits on higher ground northeast of the city, with large Edwardian and Victorian houses around Mapperley Park, and more modest semis and terraces closer to Woodborough Road. The plumbing reflects the age and style of the properties, lots of original pipework, lead supply pipes, and drains that predate modern regulations.
The big houses in Mapperley Park often have complex heating systems spread over three or four floors, with radiators in loft conversions and bathrooms in extensions. We've upgraded several to modern zone-controlled systems with smart thermostats. The terraces closer to Porchester Road and Woodborough Road tend to have simpler setups, but aging pipes and drains still cause problems, slow drainage, dripping taps, corroded overflow pipes. Tree-lined streets mean root ingress into clay drains is common, especially after dry summers when the ground cracks.
Mapperley's an easy run from central Nottingham, and we're out there regularly. If you need a full system survey for a renovation, we'll come and assess it properly,no charge for the visit. Emergency callouts usually get attended same-day. We'll send either one of our employed plumbers or an approved subcontractor who knows the area.
